If you want clarity ask that question.

Too often we use trendy business jargon, fancy terms, and lofty principles without grasping their true meaning. And I am not talking about the general idea but the specific meaning in the given context.

If you stand for open and honest communication among your team what does that really look like? Are we just talking about business issues as in “Sorry, I cannot keep that deadline” or do we also address personal and leadership issues as in “John, we need you to actively lead this team instead of passively observing from the sidelines. You are not doing a good job here”!

Asking „What does that mean?“ forces you to think deeper, clarifying the exact meaning of what you want to establish in your team or organization.

It’s a simple but powerful question that drives real insight.
