If you want to develop a succinct strategy very quickly focus exclusively on the “what” (goals) and completely ignore the “how” (measures).

Too often these two get mixed up in strategy sessions leading to long and futile discussions.

Developing strategy is about defining a future destination for your company. It is about setting clear and ambitious objectives that will shape the organization for future growth.

Once you are clear on your strategy you start thinking about options and alternatives to achieve your objectives (implementation).

Before developing your strategy make sure everybody involved is clear on the distinction between strategy and implementation.
